In the second quarter of 2024, the hack and slash genre witnessed significant activity across Europe on a unified platform, with the top five apps showcasing diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at how each app performed, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Solo Leveling:Arise by Netmarble Corporation had a strong debut following its release on May 7, 2024. In the week of its launch, downloads peaked at approximately 1.5M. Despite a decline in downloads to around 45K by the end of June, weekly active users remained robust, ranging from 1.3M to 1.5M throughout the quarter. Revenue saw an initial peak of $1.5M in the week of May 13, gradually decreasing to about $469K by the end of June.

FAIRY TAIL: Fierce Fight from Skyline Games saw a steady decline in downloads, starting from 48K in early April to just under 1.5K by the end of June. Revenue followed a similar trend, dropping from $70K in the first week of April to about $17K in late June. Weekly active users fluctuated between 53K and 31K, indicating a consistent but dwindling player base.

Hades - NETFLIX had a more stable performance. Downloads ranged from 22.6K in late April to 4.3K by the end of June. Revenue remained low, peaking at $394 in late April and maintaining a modest average. Weekly active users started strong at around 61K but gradually decreased to 41K by the end of the quarter.

Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat by YunChang Games experienced relatively stable downloads, hovering around 9K to 10K in April and seeing a slight increase to about 9.7K by the end of June. Revenue showed a declining trend, from $35K in early April to approximately $15K in late June. Weekly active users remained consistent, ranging from 137K to 121K throughout the quarter.

Lastly, Otherworld Legends by ChillyRoom exhibited a significant increase in downloads in early May, peaking at around 9.4K. However, downloads tapered off to about 4.7K by the end of June. Revenue showed a minor peak of $2K in mid-May, gradually declining to $735 by late June. Weekly active users saw a peak of 14K in mid-May but fell to around 9K by the end of June.
